History[edit]
Controversy[edit]
There were rumors that Mahima slapped Laksh during a rehearsal of &TV holi event. However, later on in an interview laksh clarified the rumors and said,
“ The issue has been blown out of proportion. It was a trivial argument, which often happens between any two co-actors. I didn't react when she excitedly applied colors on me during a media interaction at the Holi event as I realize it was unintentional on her part.”[7]
After the holi incident there were news of Mahima being replaced by Sanjeeda Sheikh or Sara Khan from the show. Nevertheless, She continued in the show. In an interview with tellychakkar.com she said,
“ Yes, the Producer Gul Khan personally met me and we cleared things.”[8]
In March 2016 an intimate scene was being to be shot between Laksh aka Krish and Mahima aka Radhika. However, Mahima denied to do it. During a press interview, She said,
“ Yes I refused to do the scene because I felt it was too intimate. My mother’s presence has got nothing to do with my refusal to shoot. I am very young to film such sequences. Hence I had reservations. Even if my mother wasn’t present, I would not have done it because I felt it was too much. I had a word with my director and explained to him my discomfort would be visible in the scene too. I told him to tone it down to a level where I could be comfortable filming it. I did not want the show to suffer and had no intentions of inconveniencing those involved. I readily shot when they made the changes.”[9]
Accidents[edit]
In November 2015, Mahima got injured on the set while shooting for a prominent jail sequence, wherein she had to run away breaking the chains. However, she ended up injuring her head while shooting for it. Nevertheless, she continued to shoot and completed her scene. Later on, people on the sets panicked and took her to the doctor to get the CT scan done [10].During a press interview she said,
Belajar membaca suku kata pdf. “I was very excited, as I got the opportunity to perform an act like Deepika Padukone from ‘Bajirao Mastani’.During the last shot I had to twirl the chain and when I pulled the chain from both the sides it came falling on my head and I was injured badly,” she added.”[11]
Again in March 2017, Nupur Alankar got injured while shooting for a death sequence[12].

The movie is just fantastic, ek villain didn't impressed me at all(the songs were the ones which dragged it's so called 'success') But Aashiqui 2 was kind of good with some major plot holes, & the same goes with this one. I'm not implying that, Hamari Adhuri Kahani is one of a kind, It has many cliché moments, but the way Mohit opted to narrate the story, caught me into it.
This movie is purely performance driven. Vidya Balan stole my heart with her innocence but I've been a fan of her acting skills since Kahaani anyways. Rajkummar Rao delivering a top notch performance And Emraan Hashmi stole the show, I'm not gonna publicly admit that i cried every time he had tears in his eyes, I'm not gonna do that :p
All in all guys, this movie is packed with a hardhitting story, with an amazing climax (ignore the one's who are criticizing it, watch it for yourself & then judge it), the atmosphere (locations) serves as an eyecandy including the songs which gave me goosebumps, literally every time when the tittle track went on.
The movie is made for a Silver Screen so do watch it there. Worth ever penny, you'll love it :)

After a long time i felt something in my heart feeling love inside most of them wont like this movie as they are addicted to the stunts, sexy songs, stupid jokes and crazy things.
This movie focuses on LOVE and Mercy to others..
Should watch one time. I liked the song Hasi and the Title song.
Story is between the rituals and love.
Plot: Five years after the mysterious disappearance of her husband, a woman becomes romantically involved with a wealthy hotelier and together they confront her past.
Though there are some errors but ignorable.

Emraan Hashmi is speechless this time. You'll love him in every scene. He is totally brilliant in every scene. Vidya Balan is nice too. Rajkumar Rao as expected he always put a smile in audience's face when with his acting. Other supportive actors have done nice job too.
I don't know why this movie got less ratings but i enjoyed it whenever Emraan Hashmi is on screen. Music and background score help to connect audiences with the soul of the screenplay and story.
Overall, forget what reviews this movie got just go and fall in love like Aarav Ruparel. Emraan Hashmi played a character about which you'll not stop thinking after coming from cinema hall.

The answer is a resounding yes. This is Mohit Suri's forte and he has elicited a fantastic performance from Emraan , Vidya. In particular this is Emraan's movie , his eyes speak volumes in his scenes.
The music is well placed.
The characters are not black or white , but grey, with their self motivations.
It's worth the money of the ticket. Go for it ..

1. The core story - though on the surface, it seems to be a cliché around love, sacrifice and longing, it has it's soul in the right place.
2. Great performances by Vidya Balan and Rajkumar Rao.
Where it fails:
1. Fist half is too weak. Too many intertwined sub-plots and connected stories take long to setup the premise.
2. Lack of attention to obvious details: Majority of the story is in flashback, set 21 years back from today, which means it's set in 1994. Yet you get to see Samsung mobiles with front facing cameras, characters taking and sharing selfies, and worst of the lot, mobile internet and lightening fast internet in the midst of a jungle which can send a video file through in 5 secs!
Overall, a lost opportunity to create a good evergreen movie due to silly mistakes and gaps in script-writing..

Best Lines:
i) 'Nothing in this world is perfect without imperfections' P.S God has made everything on purpose. ii) 'You can't love until you stop being selfish, Love is about giving away its not an ordinary trade' iii) 'Love is a responsibility not everyone can take it'.
Best Scene: Imran Hashmi giving his life in lily garden.
I gave 10 to this movie it impressed me on every ground that's the reason why I haven't left watching Bollywood movies because they occasionally produce a real master piece and its one of them

The story, with its verbose, melodramatic and regressive dialogues, along with outdated metaphors and symbolism, fits into the 1970's mould perfectly. Sadly, the audience today will not relate to it.
An intriguing tale, nevertheless, it is all about love. It is an engaging story of a married lady bound by the shackles of society, yearning for true love.
The dramatic prologue lays the foundation of the narration. It is 22 years since Vasudha (Vidya Balan) has left her husband Hari (Rajkummar Rao). Upon learning of her death, Hari, steals the urn as he is adamant about immersing her ashes in Bastar and not in the Ganges, to enable Vasudha attain salvation.
Hari's truth - the story of his life is unravelled through a diary that he leaves behind for his son Sanjh to read.
Mahesh Bhatt has penned this semi-biographical convoluted saga, with well-etched characters who are intense and complex. High on emotional quotient, he leaves his imprint with the well-structured, tight and intelligently-woven script. But it is the clichéd, archaic and effusive expositions that nail the narrative.
Recounted in a non-linear manner and packed with back stories, what holds your attention are the potent performances given by the ace star cast. This is undoubtedly the key reason to watch the film.
Emraan Hashmi delivers a sensitive performance, quite contrary to his usual image. As Arav Ruparel, the sauve and successful businessman who owns 108 hotels and is emotionally drawn to Vasudha, he is convincing.
Vidya Balan as the protagonist brings out the pathos of a distraught mother and abandoned wife seeking true love, through an emotionally intense portrayal. She does justice to her character, but expectedly so. Your heart bleeds for her at the treatment that fate has meted out to her.
With a broad spectrum of emotions, ranging from a possessive husband to a harassed victim of circumstances seething with anger to the subdued psychotic, Rajkummar Rao wows you with his power-packed and nuanced performance as Hari. He is a natural before the camera.
The other noticeable character in a cameo is Apurva, Arav's friend-cum-man Friday. With his spontaneity, tone and sense of timing, he lends a fresh perspective to the sardonic lackey, eliciting many a laughter at his 'flight delay' dialogues.
Yesteryear actor Amala as Rohini, Arav's mother, is a huge disappointment. Although the character allows her ample opportunity to perform, she offers nothing to make it memorable.
Technically, with excellent production values and decent music, the visuals by cinematographer Vishnu Rao are vibrantly brought to life by his meticulous framing.
Watch this one if you are moved by sad love stories. The good performances are an added bonus.
3/5* or 6/10

First, the negatives: The first half might have been cut here and there by ten or fifteen minutes. The acting of Emraan Hashmi seems to be confined to two expressions. In just one scene does Vidya Balan's character seem real. As pointed out in one review, there are many anachronisms involving technology. This could be quite distracting to someone technologically aware.
HOWEVER, overall the plot and characters keep the audience involved, and that is the real test of a film. Rajkummar Rao is stunning as the obsessed husband, an ugly, complex human being somehow strayed from the real world into this flower-strewn romance. The locales are beautiful and beautifully shot; the music is lovely. All in all, worth seeing.
